Responsible Gambling
Our Commitment
Goldborn is committed to promoting responsible play. While our Platform is designed to be entertaining and engaging, we recognise that gambling involves real financial risk. We encourage all players to play responsibly and within their means.
Battles on Goldborn involve the risk of losing some or all of your Dragon NFT's value, statistics, or the NFT itself. The value of AVAX and Dragon NFTs can also fluctuate due to cryptocurrency market conditions. Please read the information below carefully.
Know Your Limits
- Only play with funds you can afford to lose. Never gamble with money that you need for essential expenses such as rent, bills, food, or debt repayments.
- Set a budget before you start playing and stick to it. When your budget is spent, stop.
- Set time limits for your gaming sessions. Take regular breaks.
- Never chase losses. Losing is a natural part of gambling. Trying to win back losses often leads to greater losses.
- Do not play while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, as this impairs your judgement.
- Remember that gambling is entertainment, not a way to make money.
Warning Signs of Problem Gambling
Problem gambling can affect anyone. If you recognise any of the following signs in yourself or someone you know, it may be time to seek help:
- Spending more money or time gambling than you can afford;
- Difficulty controlling or stopping your gambling;
- Feeling restless or irritable when trying to cut down;
- Gambling to escape problems or relieve feelings of anxiety, guilt, or depression;
- Chasing losses — returning to gamble again after losing to try to win back money;
- Lying to family members, friends, or others about the extent of your gambling;
- Borrowing money, selling possessions, or committing illegal acts to finance gambling;
- Jeopardising or losing a significant relationship, job, or educational opportunity because of gambling;
- Relying on others to provide money to relieve a desperate financial situation caused by gambling;
- Neglecting personal responsibilities, self-care, or wellbeing due to gambling.
Self-Exclusion
If you feel that you need to take a break from the Platform, you may request a self-exclusion by contacting us at contact@goldborn.com. Upon receiving your request, we will:
- Block your wallet address from accessing the Platform Interface;
- Remove your ability to create or accept Battles through the Interface;
- Maintain the block for a minimum period agreed upon with you (e.g., 6 months, 1 year, or permanently).
Please note that due to the decentralised nature of blockchain technology, we cannot prevent your wallet from interacting directly with the smart contracts on the Avalanche blockchain. Self-exclusion applies to the Goldborn Interface only. You will retain the ability to burn Dragon NFTs and withdraw associated vault balances directly through the smart contracts at any time.
Taking a Break
We encourage players to take regular breaks during gaming sessions. Consider:
- Setting an alarm or timer to remind yourself to take a break;
- Stepping away from the screen between Battles;
- Taking at least one full day off from gaming each week;
- Keeping track of the time and money you spend on the Platform;
- Talking to someone you trust about your gaming habits.
